2009 8th StWASHINGTON, DC–Jefferson Apartment Group has begun construction on a boutique luxury apartment community at 2009 8th St in the Shaw submarket. It is the second development for the company here, having delivered Jefferson MarketPlace in 2014.
The site, purchased in 2016, is a co-investment venture between JAG and Stars Investment Management Co. The building will feature 132 units on seven floors plus a penthouse level. Hickok Cole is the architect. The design will incorporate the façade of the existing building so the site will blend well with the pedestrian-scale urban fabric of Shaw.
