SAN DIEGO—Sunrise Management has hired Danielle Munoz as regional VP in its San Diego office as part of the multifamily property-management firm's expanding California team. Munoz will be charged with overseeing all property-management functions for the firm's rapidly growing Southern California portfolio.

GlobeSt.com was unable to reach Munoz before deadline for comment on her goals in her new position.

Sunrise has been active in markets both in and out of Southern California. As we previously reported, the San Diego-based firm, which has specialized in the management of multifamily properties since 1978, has begun $2.4 million in renovations and repositioning for the two communities—Sonoma Pines in Peoria, AZ, to be renamed Peoria Modern, and Sonoma Villas in Mesa, AZ, to be renamed Modern on Gilbert—which were recently acquired by a partnership of Phoenix-headquartered Modern Residential and Boston-based Henley USA.

Also as we reported in June, Munoz joins Phil Smith, who was recently named the firm's director of small-property operations, based in San Diego. Smith told us at that time, “While larger communities make up over 90% of the Sunrise Management portfolio, we have managed a portfolio of small properties in San Diego for more than 20 years. This new position affords me the opportunity to bring best practices and new technologies to the management of these properties. I'm here to grow the business.”

Munoz most recently served as senior regional property manager at Pacific Living Properties, where she was responsible for the operational performance and investment direction of 17 Southern California assets. Prior to that, she was with ConAm, where she held the title of senior regional portfolio manager.

“Danielle brings vast multifamily and property-management experience to Sunrise,” says Joe Greenblatt, president and CEO of Sunrise, in a prepared statement. “We're all excited to work with her as we continue to increase our portfolio throughout San Diego as well as the Southwestern United States.”
