AMES, IA—Parents have become increasingly willing to pay universities for high-quality student housing, and schools have responded. Iowa State University, for example, is just the latest major Midwest university to select the Opus Group to develop a student residential complex filled with amenities.

The company will build The Foundry, a six-story building which will have 53 units and 144 bedrooms, at the gateway to the university's campus in Ames, IA. It will also include 7,500-square-feet of ground-level retail space, and residents will have access to a large fitness center, study lounges, game room, private heated underground parking and common areas. Students will have the option of living in units with two- or four-bedrooms.

“The Foundry will be a one-of-a-kind space, setting the standard for high-quality student housing at the front door of campus,” says Jason Conway, the director of real estate development for Opus Development Company, L.L.C. “No other student housing options offer the comfort and convenience The Foundry will bring to Iowa State University.”
