ANAHEIM, CA—A celebration attended by 800 stakeholders and media, commemorating the debut of the Anaheim Regional Transportation Intermodal Center, commonly referred to as ARTIC, was held Dec. 8 at the new center at 2626 E. Katella Ave. here. Also, on Dec. 13, the center opened its doors for a family-friendly community celebration providing an insider's view of ARTIC as well as interactive activities, displays, self-guided tours and more.
ARTIC offers a variety of transit, dining, retail and entertainment options in one location. Those utilizing existing commuter platforms in the Angel Stadium parking lot will now utilize ARTIC for their public transportation services, including Amtrak, Metrolink, OCTA bus service, Anaheim Resort Transportation, Megabus.com, Greyhound, taxis, shuttles and more. ARTIC will also feature direct access from the Santa Ana River Trail so bicyclists can ride to ARTIC and either store their bike in a bike locker or load it on a train or bus.
As GlobeSt.com reported last week, the 68,000-square-foot center is both one of the most complex structures to be built and one of the most beautiful, Bruce Gibbons, a principal with structural engineer firm Thornton Tomasetti, told us.
Below, several photos from the debut event.
