ATLANTA—Wheeler/Brand just wooed Patrick Freeman to its executive team. Freeman, who has a string of credentials behind his name—including CPM, CCIM, RPA, SMA, LEED AP and BOMA Fellow—will serve as executive vice president of property management. He will replace Lois Mittiga upon her 2016 retirement.

Freeman is well-known in Atlanta's property management industry. He comes to Wheeler/Brand after nine years with Columbia Property Trust/Wells Real Estate Funds. There he managed 11 million square feet of class A office space, 37 assets in Atlanta, and 10 other markets across the US.

“Pat is a gifted mentor who will help us grow our management practices for our clients,” says M. Scott Meadows, president of Wheeler/Brand. “In addition to managing a sizable portfolio, his caliber of experience in property management is unmatched in this market.”

Freeman and Meadows, who was recruited by Brand Morgan to take over Wheeler/Brand in January 2014, used to work together at Wells. Freeman says that made the decision to jump over to Wheeler/Brand easy.

“Scott is a man of great integrity, and I am extremely happy to be working with him again,” Freeman says. “Combined with the rest of the new leadership team, this makes for the perfect opportunity to be a part of something that is being reinvented.”

Freeman will manage and develop the property management team that is responsible for over 75 assets throughout the Southeast. He's known for proactive and collaborative approach that Meadows expects to maximize tenant retention.

Named one of its inaugural 10 “Fellows,” Freeman is a longtime member of BOMA. As the string of letters after his name suggests, he's also a Certified Property Manager, Certified Commercial Investment Member, Real Property Administrator, Systems Maintenance Administrator, and an Accredited Professional in Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design.

“We have an incredible opportunity to garner significant expansion by meeting the needs of our existing clients while identifying avenues to introduce our platform to others,” says Freeman. “I'm pleased to have established a positive reputation among my peers as someone who is helpful and supportive of both the industry and the industry's growth. I look forward to leveraging that strength to help grow Wheeler/Brand.”
