ATLANTA—What does the future hold for Peachtree Center? From where JLL's Michael Werner sits, the future looks bright.
“It's exciting times for downtown Atlanta, and for Peachtree Center,” Werner tells GlobeSt.com. “We are currently in the conceptual stages of a multi-million dollar remodeling project for Peachtree Center in which we are refreshing and modernizing the courtyard areas, as well as the food court.”
As he sees things, it's important to make Peachtree Center a place where people want to be. The restaurants in the food hall are already popular—Middle Eastern favorite Aviva by Kameel was recently named the top restaurant in Atlanta by Yelp—and they are constantly evolving.
“Two highly regarded restaurants, Atlanta-based Tin Lizzy's and Georgia newcomer, Gus's World Famous Fried Chicken, signed leases this year at Peachtree Center,” Werner says. “We believe that the restaurants within Peachtree Center will continue to see strong sales due to the support of our tenants, growth of downtown, and diversity of culinary offerings. In addition, the weekly Green Market continues to grow, breathing life into the space and creating a sense of community.”
On a broader scale, Werner, along with his colleagues Kay Younglove and David Horne, are convinced Downtown Atlanta is poised for a comeback. They are paying close attention to how Downtown Atlanta stacks up against other submarkets and have some interesting thoughts on what makes Downtown Atlanta different in this cycle. They wholeheartedly believe that this is just the beginning for Downtown Atlanta.
