CHICAGO—Many Chicago-area tech firms have recently decided to move their operations downtown to take advantage of city's huge collection of talent. But some others believe that they can take advantage of what both city and suburbs offer. Brainlab, Inc., a Munich-based medical technology firm, has a newly designed office space at 5 Westbrook Corporate Center in suburban Westchester, and earlier this year it expanded its presence into downtown Chicago by opening a new state-of-the-art customer training center in the iconic Wrigley Building.
The company now occupies more than 20,000 square feet in Westchester, encompassing the building's entire 10th floor. Chicagoland architecture firm Baumann Studios LLC designed an open-floor plan for Brainlab that will encourage collaboration among the more than 70 employees. Interior Construction Group, Inc. developed the offices.
"With offices in the suburbs and downtown, Brainlab is able to take full advantage of all that Chicagoland has to offer," Sean Clark, president of Brainlab, tells GlobeSt.com. "Our downtown location conveniently offers Chicago's unique culture and entertainment to our customers who visit for product training from around the world, while our suburban location in Westchester is conveniently located between O'Hare and Midway for efficient visits from business partners and global employees. Both working locations allow us to recruit and retain the most talented employees across all of Chicagoland."
"Brainlab is on trend in creating an office space where innovation and performance are built on personal interactions," he adds. "Our new space provides a collaborative working environment through an open floor plan, state of the art interactive zones, and a streamlined design with room for future growth."
