MIAMI—Coconut Grove is not a new market, but it's still in many ways resuring and remerging. GlobeSt.com caught up with Oscar Rodriguez, principal of ROVR Development to get his insights on this market. ROVR is developing only new waterfront project rising in Coconut Grove—The Fairchild Coconut Grove.
GlobeSt.com: What is happening in Coconut Grove?
Rodriguez: In the past five years, Coconut Grove has seen a major resurgence and is emerging as one of South Florida's foremost communities. Coconut Grove's recent evolution is drawing in a new caliber of clientele that is seeking a luxury lifestyle within the area's charm and appeal. More and more people and businesses are discovering Miami's best kept secret and are drawn to all the unique aspects Coconut Grove offers.
GlobeSt.com: What makes this area stand out as a new emerging market in South Florida and what is drawing developers and investors to the area?
Rodriguez: Coconut Grove has been the heart of Miami since the city's inception and has acquired a reputation as a waterfront peaceful sanctuary rich in history and culture. Known for its character and aesthetic beauty, “The Grove”—as locals refer to it—has really conserved and nurtured its unique aspect over time.
It is this special quality that makes Coconut Grove so exceptional. It's a community where neighbors, business owners and local leaders really come together to preserve its integrity and this is what really attracted us.
Our development, The Fairchild Coconut Grove, grew out of a love and respect for the area's beauty and unique charisma. We wanted to create a tropical modern sanctuary that would enhance the area and offer residents resort-style living in the midst of a peaceful and beautiful neighborhood.
GlobeSt.com: How is your project different and what makes it stand out in this growing market?
Rodriguez: The Fairchild Coconut Grove is the only new luxury waterfront development rising in Coconut Grove. Our vision has been driven by the history and natural beauty of the area and we have really gone the extra mile to design a development that blends and enhances its surroundings.
With only 26 exclusive two- to four-bedroom residences ranging in size from 1,714 to 4,114 square feet, The Fairchild offers a private enclave nestled in a quiet residential neighborhood, providing the feel of a single family home within a boutique waterfront development.
Designed by local architect, Max Strang, The Fairchild Coconut Grove perfectly fuses contemporary elements with the natural environment the area is known for. Residents will enjoy the ultimate in amazing amenities while still feeling part of the Grove's charm, peaceful ambiance and unique character.
