Roundhouse Market The opening of Roundhouse Market has been long awaited.

SAN RAMON, CA—Activity at Bishop Ranch continues on its fast pace, with the highly anticipated Roundhouse Market now open, along with a target date for THE LOT and GE Digital taking down added space. Roundhouse Market is a collection of eateries, THE LOT is a luxury cinema experience and dining destination, and Bishop Ranch now serves as the global headquarters of GE Digital, led by chief executive officer Bill Ruh.

“The opening of Roundhouse Market has been long awaited by both Bishop Ranch tenants and the residents of San Ramon,” said Alexander Mehran Jr., president and COO of Sunset Development Company, which owns Bishop Ranch. “We're excited to be able to offer an array of dining options, with something for everyone. Roundhouse Market was created with quality, convenience and community in mind.”

Roundhouse Market includes fast-casual and full-service restaurants within 2600 at Bishop Ranch. Its executive chef Danny Guerrini brings fresh, seasonal fare to the restaurants, Bishop Farms, Quarterly Pizza and The Pinto. Managed by Moana Restaurant Group, the team behind successful restaurants including Piatti in Danville, Corners Tavern in Walnut Creek, El Dorado Kitchen in Sonoma, Basalt in Napa and Redd Wood in Yountville, each of the new Roundhouse restaurants will bring a fresh contemporary offering to the San Ramon community.

Guerrini is a Northern California native and former executive banquet chef at Cavallo Point in Sausalito, and executive chef at EOS Restaurant and Wine Bar, and The Rotunda Room in Neiman Marcus in San Francisco, with a unique approach to lunch offerings and menus for special events in the Roundhouse Conference Center.

“Roundhouse Market brings something new and fresh to the dining scene, making it a destination for not only nearby businesses, but for all residents of the East Bay,” Mehran tells GlobeSt.com. “It doesn't look or feel like a traditional office building cafeteria, with features like indoor and outdoor lakeside seating. Executive Chef Danny Guerrini took a stand-alone restaurant approach and sources the best ingredients for his menus.”

THE LOT has signed a lease to open THE LOT City Center, an entertainment venue with a 10-screen movie theater at City Center. This multi-faceted venue will anchor the project and open with City Center's grand opening in the fall of 2018. THE LOT designs each location to reflect its locale, creating a vibrant community hub built around the cinemas and its dynamic restaurant, café and bar. The architecture and interior design will be contemporary utilizing natural-textures and incorporating an open lobby design connected to an outside patio. Ongoing community engagement is at the heart of the company, demonstrated in its offering of events beyond the movies–car shows, sporting events, art displays and special events such as the Academy Awards.

Also, GE Digital will be expanding its leased space at Bishop Ranch to occupy an additional 100,000 square feet at the 2600 building, in addition to its existing space at Bishop Ranch 3. GE announced the formation of its software arm in 2009 and then created its regional offices at Bishop Ranch in 2011, initially leasing 240,000 square feet of space in Bishop Ranch 3. With the expansion into 2600, the company will occupy nearly 350,000 square feet within Bishop Ranch.

This expansion adds significant capacity for new employees at the rapidly growing organization, in addition to the 1,700 employees currently working at GE Digital in Bishop Ranch. The existing space will also house GE's flagship Digital Foundry, a hub that allows GE Digital to incubate industrial Internet startups, collaborate with customers on application development, and extend and promote GE's international developer ecosystem.
