Crystal Lagoon

ROWLETT, TX—Crystal Lagoons has partnered with Bayside Land Partners to create the first Crystal Lagoon in Texas as part of Bayside, a luxury mixed-use development on Lake Ray Hubbard, 15 miles east of downtown Dallas. Bayside, a $1 billion mixed-use lakefront development, will have an 8-acre lagoon that is 25 times the size of an Olympic swimming pool and equivalent to 10 football fields of water.

“We look forward to bringing Crystal Lagoons to Texas in partnership with Bayside Land Partners,” said Crystal Lagoons US CEO Uri Man. “Texas is one of the most important markets for us, and we are opening an office in the Lone Star State in order to serve the growing demand we have seen from the real estate community here. In Texas, bigger is better and the world's top amenity will be the centerpiece of several master-planned communities in Houston, Austin and Galveston.”

Ideal for sailing and stand-up paddle boarding, the environmentally sustainable Crystal Lagoon uses 50% less water than a park of the same size, 30 times less water than an 18-hole golf course, 100 times less chemicals than a swimming pool and up to 50 times less energy than conventional pool filtration systems. The Crystal Lagoon will be surrounded by a resort and marina, two condominium towers, luxury apartments, single-family homes and more than 1 million square feet of mixed-use retail/entertainment/restaurant/office space.

“Since we have announced the Bayside project, we have seen a tremendous outpouring of interest and demand,” Derrick Roach, central US regional director for Crystal Lagoons tells GlobeSt.com. “By establishing our Central US office here in Dallas, we are now more connected to our real estate partners throughout the state of Texas and the central US, and we are looking forward to announcing more projects in the future.”

In addition to offering beach life, the highlight of the Crystal Lagoon will be the largest fountain in Texas that will be home to daily and nightly live entertainment– open to the public. A “water mist screen” will project an interactive video performance for guests to enjoy while dining at the waterfront restaurants.

“As soon as we saw the Crystal Lagoons in person, we wanted to be the first community in Texas to have one,” said Kent Donahue, development partner with Bayside Land. “This will be an incredible draw for Rowlett, Dallas and all of North Texas. We are implementing some unique elements in and around the lagoon that have never been done before. The public is going to be amazed.”

The Bayside Crystal Lagoon will be the 12th in the country, joining the company's portfolio of more than 300 lagoons worldwide. An additional 42 US lagoons are under negotiations with a total valuation of almost $54 billion. Upcoming announcements are planned for Nevada, California, Arizona, Hawaii, North Carolina, Georgia and Michigan.
