GARLAND, TX—With the Baby Boomer generation—the largest US demographic—beginning to turn 70 years old, developers across the country are stepping up to build upscale living for this age bracket. Seneca Investment's Firewheel Senior Living Residences, which recently broke ground, is one of the residences expected to fill some of that demand.
With its salt water pool and other amenities, the complex's general contractor, KWA Construction, anticipates Firewheel will be highly regarded within Garland's senior living communities. The 154-unit 171,572-square-foot senior living community is located near the Firewheel Golf Course.
Construction is expected to be complete by the end of 2018. KWA Construction is working with Seneca Investments and architect David Kirch to build the senior living project.
“Having built numerous senior developments in the DFW area, KWA has seen the level of amenities continue to skyrocket in recent years. From its best-in-class fitness center and salon to its salt water pool, KWA expects Seneca's Firewheel Senior Living Residences to stand out among Garland's senior living communities,” said Brian Webster, president of KWA Construction.
Located at 5151 N. President George Bush Highway, the four-story complex will offer stainless steel appliances, LED lighting, wood cabinets, granite counters and brushed nickel or chrome fixtures in its one- and two-bedroom apartments. There will be a ballroom with a kitchen, buffet station, private dining area, lounges and multiple rest areas throughout the building. Outdoor amenities will include two courtyards and multiple grilling stations.
“For a decade, KWA Construction has helped developers execute their vision of upscale and living for seniors,” Webster tells GlobeSt.com. “The amenities that Firewheel Senior Living Residences will offer, such as the large ballroom, sports lounge, outdoor pool and spacious dog park, reflect current trends in senior living communities and will encourage a more active lifestyle.”
KWA's active adult communities portfolio also includes Larkspur at Twin Creeks in Allen, TX, Hillside West Senior Living in Dallas and Heritage Village in Hurst, TX.
