IRVING, TX—Energy and technology-based companies are circling the market right now, including some companies from out of state looking to relocate to a more business-friendly environment found here. A local energy company is doing just that in the selection of The Summit at Las Colinas for its national headquarters.
Guidon Energy has inked a long-term full-floor lease and will be housed in 22,360 square feet, occupying the entire 13th floor of The Summit at Las Colinas at 545 E. John Carpenter Fwy. The lease commences in the first quarter of 2018.
Guidon Energy is an oil and gas company founded in the Midland Basin, where it is developing approximately 33,000 gross acres in the core of Martin County, TX.
“The Summit is a perfect fit for our growth needs, as we continue to expand our business and employee base in our Dallas corporate office,” said Jay Still, Guidon's president and chief executive officer. “The quality of the building with its many amenities, the outstanding 360-degree vistas and the on-site Gemini Rosemont management team that has been great to work with, really set this property apart from the other surrounding alternatives. Being conveniently located between both DFW and Love Field makes it all the better.”
The Summit at Las Colinas is a class-A 19-story office building comprised of 375,706 square feet and includes an 11-story parking garage. Nearby hotels, restaurants, high-end retail and residential, and other business-centric and employee-based amenities are nearby.
The Summit at Las Colinas is also the national headquarters for seven companies, including College Football Playoff, Nexstar Media Group, Highgate Hotels and LaSalle Group. Currently there are two full floors available for lease near the top of the building, ranging in size from 8,391 square feet to 9,518 square feet.
Gemini Rosemont Commercial Real Estate's managing director for leasing, Kirby White, represented the owner in the transaction, while Robert Blount, senior vice president with CBRE, represented Guidon Energy.
“The heads of seven companies who have chosen The Summit at Las Colinas for their headquarters all say the same thing,” White tells GlobeSt.com. “They appreciate that The Summit is a quality building that offers superior service in a great location. It sets the tone for their respective brands.”
Along with the bigger amenities such as a conference center and fitness center, The Summit also offers smaller services including twice weekly laundry pick up, and car wash and detailing service, White says.
“Executives are going to choose to work in a location that serves their needs and the needs of their employees, such as Millennials,” White tells GlobeSt.com. “They can walk to work from their Lake Carolyn lakefront apartments or condos, and the DART station makes it an easy commute from other locations.”
The Summit at Las Colinas is also home to Gemini Rosemont's regional office.
