HOUSTON—Amsterdam-based creative workspace pioneer, Spaces, chose Houston for its second site in Texas. Spaces Kirby Grove opened last month at 2925 Richmond Ave. and the location offers professionals in the region a 29,000-square-foot business hub built around the concepts of shared ideas and innovation.
Spaces is a creative working environment with a unique entrepreneurial spirit. Its workspaces offer a setting designed to integrate lifestyle into work, and members are encouraged to build personal networks by initiating new connections in the space.
“We are excited to bring Spaces to the Houston market because of the city's strong infrastructure, which provides incredible support to growing industries from a variety of markets including healthcare, nanotechnology, aerospace, IT as well as developing smaller businesses and entrepreneurial ventures,” Michael Berretta, vice president of network development Americas for Spaces, tells GlobeSt.com. “Its solid workforce and pro-business environment helps to stimulate the city's economic landscape and we're thrilled to offer Spaces Kirby Grove as the ideal flexible workspace for these growing sectors of developing businesses.”
Spaces Kirby Grove boasts a 4,000-square-foot business club allowing members to work and interact. There are more than 325 private desks available for rent and two meeting rooms that can be rented hourly or daily by members or community residents. Business and networking events will be hosted at the site to further encourage connection and collaboration, including Tedx Talks which bring TED-style events hosted by community residents to Spaces locations worldwide. Co-working membership to Spaces Kirby Grove starts at $320 per month and office rentals start at $890 per month.
“Located blocks away from Upper Kirby district in Houston, Spaces Kirby Grove will offer a creative workspace environment that will allow entrepreneurs and business leaders to develop new ideas for their established and growing businesses in Texas,” said Joshua Stanton, general manager of Spaces Kirby Grove. “This new location is surrounded by some of the city's largest cultural, educational and artistic institutions such as Rice University, Museum of Fine Arts, Houston Museum of Natural Science and Japanese Gardens. Spaces Kirby Grove's proximity to these establishments allows members to source untapped talent and access a variety of resources.”
Spaces Kirby Grove is the company's 22nd location in North America and part of a rapid expansion that will include more than 20 additional openings by the end of 2018, including a new location in Southlake near Dallas, opening in spring 2018. Used by global firms across Europe and more recently in Australia including Facebook, UBER and GoPro, Spaces has pioneered a professional lifestyle-driven working environment founded on principles of collaboration, inclusivity and authentic design that reflects the company's “Inspire to Work” philosophy.
“With the continued growth and demand for flexible workspaces, Spaces is redefining the way work is done, providing a contemporary, social and inspirational environment with a real focus on community,” says Martijn Roordink, co-founder of Spaces.
