BETHESDA, MD—Matt Naish has joined Walker & Dunlop Inc. as SVP in its multifamily finance group. Working from the company's San Francisco office, Naish will use his new employer's strong relationships with the GSEs as well as HUD to originate multifamily loans.
“Over his career, Matt has developed tremendous relationships in the multifamily finance space,” says W&D's EVP Don King. “His specialization in affordable housing finance makes him particularly valuable to the company at a time when the agencies are more focused than ever on finding ways to expand this underserved sector of the market.”
He adds that the company's position as a top five lender with Fannie Freddie Mac and HUD—in which it's ranked second, third and fourth, respectively—“allows us to attract talented originators like Matt who will help us continue to grow our multifamily presence across the country.”
Before joining W&D, Naish was director of affordable housing finance at Berkeley Point Capital. He previously held multiple roles with HUD, where he developed an expertise in affordable housing policy and FHA multifamily products. In his most recent position at HUD as senior advisor to the deputy assistant for multifamily housing programs, Naish was involved in national policy and reorganization efforts.
