NEW YORK CITY—The Urban Land Institute New York has announced the 14 finalists for its inaugural awards for excellence in development. Set to be handed down on March 10th, the honors will go to “public and private projects that exemplify ULI New York's mission to promote responsible land use and innovative development that strengthens communities,” according to the organization.
Winners will be chosen from 14 finalists across six categories: office development, housing development, mixed-use development, institutional development, repositioning or redevelopment and civic space.
The nominees in each category are:
Excellence in Office Development: Conventus – Buffalo, NY, Ciminelli Real Estate Corp.; 4 World Trade Center – New York, NY, Silverstein Properties; 7 Bryant Park – New York, NY, Hines, Pei Cobb Freed and Partners, 7BP Owner LLC.
Excellence in Housing Development: 60 Water St. – New York, NY, Two Trees Management Co.; Hunter's Point South – New York, NY, Related Cos., Phipps Houses and Monadnock Development.
Excellence in Mixed-Use Development: Baccarat Hotel & Residences – New York, NY, Starwood Capital Group Baccarat Hotels and Resorts + Tribeca Associates; East Harlem Center for Living and Learning – New York, NY, Jonathan Rose Cos.
Excellence in Institutional Development: September 11 Museum & Pavilion – New York, NY, National September 11 Museum & Memorial; St. Ann's Warehouse – Brooklyn, NY, St. Ann's Warehouse.
Excellence in Repositioning or Redevelopment: 114 5th Ave. – New York, NY, L&L Holding Co.; Macy's Herald Square – New York, NY, Macy's; Brookfield Place – New York, NY, Brookfield Property Partners.
Excellence in Civic Space: No. 7 Line Extension Project – New York, NY, MTA Capital Construction; Times Square Reconstruction – New York, NY, NYC Dept. of Transportation.
