Hammel Green & Abrahamson Wins Two St. Paul Design Deals

ST. PAUL, MN-The Minneapolis architectural firm of Hammel Green & Abrahamson has been selected to design new headquarters and studio building for Minneapolis Public Radio, as well as another project.

Hammel Green & Abrahamson has been selected as architect for two major projects. The first is a new facility for St. Paul-based Minnesota Public Radio, one of the largest public radio stations in the United States, which wants to build a new headquarters and studio building. The radio station does not yet have a site or specification for its building.

The firm was also named architect of record for the redevelopment of the West Side Flats, an area across the Mississippi River from downtown St. Paul between the Wabasha and Robert Street bridges. U.S. Bancorp. recently said it plans to build a $50-million, 230,000-sf client service center that would be part of this “urban village,” which would include 750 housing units. The project will play a role in the city’s efforts to redevelop the riverfront.
