Washington Hotel LLC partners' Craig Shafer and Alan Battersby are now looking at what improvements can be made to the building. Starwood completed $5 million of renovations of the art deco hotel, formerly known as the Meany Tower, in 1997.
The sale of the Edmond Meany is part of Starwood's strategy of divesting hotels that do not fall in line with its business plan. The White Plains, NY, company owns and manages hotels under brands such as Westin, Sheraton, Hotel W and St. Regis, and is Downtown Seattle's biggest hotel operator.
