Phoenix Developer Sets Project for Williams-Sonoma

Developer will brak ground on 1.2 million sf in Memphia as part of national program for client.

PHOENIX—The Phoenix-based Hewson Co. has unveiled plans to build a 1.2-million sf distribution center for Williams-Sonoma in a suburb of Memphis. Construction has begun on the state-of-the-art distribution center that is located in the 265-acre Hewson-Olive Branch Distribution Center in the Memphis suburb of Olive Branch, MS.

Once completed, the facility will be used for distribution of goods to Williams-Sonoma retail stores throughout the country. In the near term, the center will distribute to both the retail stores and directly to Williams-Sonoma’s customers through purchases made via print catalog and the company’s website. Williams-Sonoma is an upscale kitchen and home furnishing company. Hewson located the 265-acre distribution park in Olive Branch because is has all the elements needed for a successful facility, says company representatives, including location, value, tax benefits, low cost of living and a wealth of talented labor. The project marks the seventh Hewson has completed for Williams-Sonoma since 1983, totaling 3.3 million square feet including the Olive Branch facility.
