One Stop Capital Shop Has New Exec Director

Harold Hill has been appointed as executive director of One Stop Capital Shop Inc., located in Detroit’s Empowerment Zone.Hill has spent more than 18 years as an economic developer, most recently as director of mid-Michigan operations for the MichiganMinority Development Council. He has also held several positions with the State of Michigan, including the Michigan Strategic Fund, Office of Economic Development, Small Business Division, and Division of Minority Enterprise.

In recent years, some observers have said that the OSCS has not been an effective tool for development. Hill says he recognizes the challenges he faces and sees tremendous opportunity to help local businesses. “I look forward to taking this organization from where it is today to where it can and should be, a viable small business tool,” he notes. “I want to meet local business owners and talk about their needs. I want them to know the One Stop is there for them and can provide the assistance they need.”
