Major new projects are Digital Optics Corp.'s planned 100,000-sf facility and Crescent Resources Inc.'s ongoing development on 163 acres. Private pension system giant TIAA-CREF plans to occupy a 460,000-sf operations/call center on 137 acres in first quarter 2001.

First Union is the park's largest employer with 10,000 workers housed in a 2.1 million-sf customer information center and adjacent structures. About 40 companies employ 23,000 persons in the park.
