Entertainment Site to Go Near Speedway

KANSAS CITY, KS - A large entertainment complex by Zimmer is on the drawing board near the new Kansas Speedway.

GlobeSt.com has learned that a 400-acre entertainment and retail complex is planned for the area to the north and west of the Kansas Speedway, which is now construction. The Unified Board of Commissioners of Wyandotte County and Kansas City, KS, has chosen Zimmer Construction the master developer.

The site is located between 110th Street on the west, Interstate 435 on the west, Parallel Parkway on the north and Interstate 70 on the south. Projections state that as much as $500 million in commercial development may result from the project. The Kansas Speedway itself is estimated to cost $287 million.
