The newest project is Courtyard Marriott, a four-story, 181-room, $20 million asset being built atop South Tryon Square's 10-story parking deck at Third and Tryon Streets. Miller Building Corp. of Wilmington, NC is the contractor.
Marriott is also shooting for a first quarter 2001 opening on its 150-room, 11-story Residence Inn by Marriott. Marriott City Center, operating at The Square, gives the Washington, D.C.-based chain three uptown affiliates.
Another developer, Panos Hotel Group, is completing a total 360 rooms at a Hampton Inn, HIlton Garden and Panos Suites.
