City OK Sought for Luxury Apartments

SAN DIEGO-Local developer and Bay Area hotelier hope to build 350 units in Mission Valley.

SAN DIEGO-Lured by the region’s tight market for upscale rentals, the Handlery hotel chain is linking up with a local developer in an effort to build a 350-unit luxury apartment complex in Mission Valley.

San Francisco-based Handlery Hotels and Solano Beach-based Chelsea Investment Corp. want to build The Presidio View at the site of the closed Cinema 21 Theater on Hotel Circle North, now being used by a church group. The hotelier is also mulling an expansion of its nearby Handlery Hotel and Resort.
