A spokeswoman for the locally-based clothier claimed no knowledge of the process, but more than one local broker says the company is looking for 150,000 sf initially - with room to as much as double in coming years - and has short-listed a half dozen sites. Columbia's current headquarters are located at 6600 N. Baltimore.
One of those sites is rumored to be Consolidated Freightways' Leland James Center, a Portland office complex built in the late 1980s at 1621 NW 21st Ave. Consolidated is selling the property along with its Menlo Park, Calif., headqaurters and centralizing operations in Vancouver, Wash. The 12-acre Leland James development has 342,662 square feet of space and is listed for $28.5 million.
