One building, with about 300,000 sf, would stand near the Westin South Coast Plaza Hotel. The other, with 100,000 sf, would be near the intersection of Bristol Street and Anton Boulevard.
Leasing activity in the area around South Coast Plaza has picked up as rents for space in the neighboring John Wayne Airport market have climbed, local brokers say. The Plaza itself is undergoing a $150-million expansion, and the locally prominent Segerstrom family is planning to build 255,000 sf of office nearby in addition to a 187-room hotel next to the Westin.
