Work began last month on the eight-story, 185,000-sf tower and is expected to be done in December 2001. It has not yet been leased.
Phase one of the project, which includes two eight-story, 185,000 towers, began in June. Tech companies Siemens Information and Communications Network Inc. will occupy the towers. Phase two will entail three more 185,000-sf towers to be built within the next 3-5 years.
Skyport Plaza will serve as home base to 1,200 Spieker employees as well as the company's global development headquarters for voice, data and Internet applications.
It will feature 1.1 million sf of office space, a hotel and a residential development.
