An estimated 600 employees of FedEx's software development operations will occupy the second development phase of the two-story technology center at 4200 Regent Blvd. in Irving's Regent Center.
Koll Corporate Development, which handled the project's first phase, anticipates construction will be completed in time for a December move-in. Koll president Steve Van Amburgh says his company won the project's first phase in "a highly competitive bidding process" sealed by innovative designs and construction of high-tech structures. FedEx's Dallas Technology Center features a software test and development lab with raised flooring, emergency generator backup, fitness center and full-service cafeteria with outdoor dining area.
Fischer & Co. represented FedEx in negotiations with Koll Corporate. The general contractor is Hill & Wilkinson. Architectural firm 3ci is designing the shell and core building elements while Benson Hlavaty Architects is the interior architect
