Central Florida firms did six deals valued at $67.3 million. South Florida companies completed 12 transactions worth $136.2 million. The quarterly survey was completed by PricewaterhouseCoopers.

Tantivy's funding came from Novak Biddle Venture Partners, Chase Capital Partners, North Bridge Venture Partners, New Enterprise Associates, Venrock Associates, Intel, Bowman Capital, Morgan Stanley Dean Witter Venture Partners, Westway Capital, Redback Networks and Wheatley Partners.

In the other five deals, Digital Owl, a Winter Park web publishing systems firm, picked up $500,000 from Draper Atlantic and other investors.

PTG Precision Technology Center of Lake Mary received $2 million from Advantage Capital Partners. TeraNex, an Orlando real-time image processing chips and companion software firm, attracted $1.5 million from BankBoston Capital and Ventures.

Theseus Logic, an Orlando integrated circuits manufacturer, received $5.3 million from CEO Advisors, IPO Group and WebVestors Equity Investors. You Know Best.com, a consumer price service company in Celebration near Walt Disney World, attracted $3 million from Aweida Venture Partners and New South Ventures.
