The leases are good news for local office owners, who've been fretting that the battering many high-tech stocks have taken of late will push the county's vacancy rate higher.
John Jarvis of San Diego-based Goldman Ferguson Partners tells GlobeSt.com that he represented CompassLearning, formerly JostensLearning, in the seven-year lease at One Pacific Heights Office Tower.Spieker Properties represented itself.
CompassLearning has written educational software with more than 7,000hours of instruction and an installed base of more than 20,000 schools.
In another lease by a high-tech tenant, Rohm LSI Systems USA LLC signeda five-year, $3.4 million deal at Pacific Tower with American AssetsInc. for 25,000 sf. Philip Linton of the Carlsbad office of Grubb &Ellis Co. repped the lessee in the deal at 10145 Pacific Heights Blvd.
Tokyo-based Rohm, founded in 1958, makes resistors and semiconductorsfor the consumer electronics and other global markets.
