National Farms Inc. is developing The Yards, a commercial office park near Kemper Arena. The land was formerly used for stockyards, but has been making a resurgence in recent years after sitting mostly vacant for the past few decades. Designs and the exact location for Butler's $22 million headquartershave yet to be determined, but construction is tentatively scheduled to begin in November and to be completed by the end of 2001.
Butler currently occupies about 120,000 sf of office space inthe BMA Tower at 31st Street and Southwest Trafficway. The company employs about 600 workers. It is expected that Butler will ask for financial incentives for the project.
