Developer Leans to Village Concept for 11-Acre Retail Project

COLORADO SPRINGS, CO-An 11-acre retail project will team new with old, utilizing a quaint country village design for structures. The eight-building project will feature a 1.5-acre park with amphitheater.

Signature Cos., a suburban Denver real estate developer, has purchased an 11-acre site in northern Colorado Springs where it plans a Craftsman-style, pedestrian friendly village center called Pine Creek Village.

Signature, headed by Darrel Schmidt, has bought the land from La Plata Investments LLC, developer of the master-planned Briargate and Pine Creek Communities in the Springs, where more than 24,000 people live. Pine Creek Village will be next to the communities on the northeast corner of Briargate Parkway and Chapel Hills Dr.
