LaSalle Investment Acquires Touchstone

CHICAGO - With the acquistion, LaSalle increases its presence in Canada.

LaSalle Investment Management, part of the international behemoth Jones Lang LaSalle, has acquired the investment management business of Touchstone Realty Investment Advisors of Canada, based in Vancouver, and has agreed to hire the principal owners of Touchstone. Touchstone offers acquistions, disposition, development and investment advisory services to Canadian pension funds, corporate investors, and weathy individuals.

“Throigh this acquisition, we can significantly accelerate our Canadian business,” says Lynn Thurber, CEO of LaSalle Investment Management. Founded in 1997, Touchstone is active across the real estate spectrum; most recently, the company acquired the 214,000-sf Airport Square in Vancouver, and is currently developing 750,000 sf of industrial space in Edmonton. LaSalle Investment Management has more than $21.5 billion of assets under management, operating in 100 markets in 35 countries.
