Denise Knobblock, Compuware's executive vice president of human resources-administration, says the company had to reschedule its July 1 start date to Sept. 15.She also told GlobeSt.com that the building interior had to be changed after a second look at the planned occupancy. The $550 million, 16-story headquarters is going up in the redesigned Campus Martius complex in downtown Detroit.

"We revisited the figures and decided we needed to change the design to accommodate more employees," Knobblock explains.Phase 1 of the move was supposed to move 3,000 employees from Farmington Hills to the new building. The figure has now been revised up to 3,600.

The building is expected to be completed by June 2002. Phase 2 will move another 1,500 employees to the building a few years after, Knobblock says. REDICO is also building a $250 million office building near the new General Motors Corp. global headquarters in Detroit. That facility will house 3,000 of its health-care employees.
