Eel River Racing, now based in Lakeside Business Park near Mooresville, will move to Talbert Pointe once its 70,000-sf building is complete, according to vice president Bob Murphy. The racing team currently has 40 employees and plans to more than double employment to 100 by next year, Murphy says.

While other regional counties have tried luring the team out of Iredell County, Mooresville city council has approved an incentive package for the Eel River project, a total of $100,000 over five years, in the form oftax rebates.

In addition, Iredell County is expected to grant the race team another $100,000 as an incentive to build in Talbert Pointe.
