Today, Trammell Crow Co. sees gold in the hills once more, but not the precious metal kind. Instead, Trammell Crow plans a 400,000-sf to 600,000-sf retail and entertainment center on 50 acres of the property west of Interstate 25 and US Highway 24. The Golden Cycle Mill was closed in 1949.
Trammell Crow officials are comparing the project to its Alamo Quarry market in San Antonio, a 585,000-sf with three distinct retail and entertainment components that was build on the site of an old cement factory.
