Created five years ago, the company owns and operates 380 lodging facilities in 38 states. The properties are 91 StudioPLUS Deluxe Studios, 250 ExtendedStayAmerica Efficiency Studios and 39 Crossland Economy Studios.
Revenue rose in 1999 to $417.7 million, up 52.5% from the prior year, while net income went up 68.6% to $47.2 million. The Fort Lauderdale-based company was founded by George D. Johnson, Jr., its CEO and Florida entrepreneur H. Wayne Huizenga.
