The firm, which was founded last October, is led by a team of seasoned communications executives and backed by more than $90 million in funding. Vectris seeks to provide high-speed digital subscriber line, or DSL, to take service to second- and third-tier cities, beginning with the southwest region. Analysts say most other firms have concentrated on large metropolitan areas, making secondary and tertiary markets ripe for companies such as Vectris. Employment at the company is expected to hit 200 by year end.

Vectris' new headquarters include a multimedia presentation room near a staging and testing center created jointly by Vectris and Cisco Systems Inc.
