Column Financial, a local business owned by the Donaldson, Lufkin & Jenrette Co., is investing $3.8 million in permanent financing for Stove Works, an intown commercial loft building.
The 53,000-sf former industrial facility was rehabbed in 1999 by Stowers & Co. It is leased up with a diverse group of tenants. Xceed, an Internet consulting firm, has a 15,000-sf lease, or about 28% of the building.
The financing is Column Financial's first venture into Atlanta' high-tech real estate arena. The company has financed small conversion office loft and other space in strong technology markets elsewhere.
