Stephens Commercial Real Estate brokered the transaction, and general contractor for the project is Henry Brothers Construction. David Delach is real estate manager for Home Depot's Western Great Lakes division.
Home Depot is building in an area that the Aurora Economic Development Commission describes as the "Orchard Road Corridor." The city is currently experiencing a residential real estate boom and the demand for retail services has increased with it.
The following are of the developments now in progress or in the planning stages.
A new 127-room Hampton Inn & Suites hotel is under construction at the southwest corner of Interstate 88 and Orchard Road.
The Jaffee Companies, developers, signed a contract for the development of a 275,000-sf retail center at the northwest corner of Indian Trail and Orchard Road.
Kane County, that part of Aurora in which the Orchard Road Corridor resides, is widening Orchard Road to four lanes from I-88 south to Indian Trail Road in a project that is phase one of four phases.
A Courtyard by Marriott Hotel is planned for north of I-88 and Orchard Road, which will be accompanied by a Machine Shed Restaurant to be developed by Heart of America Restaurants & Inns.
Finally, on the various outlot parcels adjacent to the Home Depot and the Jaffee retail center, there will be more restaurants and retail specialty stores.
