Trammell Crow Co.'s Field of Dreams: 25-Story Ballpark Place

Trammell Crow Co. is clearing land in downtown Houston for a proposed 25-story tower called Ballpark Place.

The project is slated to be built across the street from the new Enron Field, a retractable-roof stadium where the Houston Astros began playing this spring. When the stadium roof is open, people on the upper floors of the building will have a bird’s eye view of the baseball diamond. Trammell Crow plans to construct 200 units of apartments in the top 16 floors of the building. The apartments will rest upon 300,000 sf of office space and 30,000 sf of street-level retail space. The mixed-use project will be located at the corner of Crawford and Preston, with the building positioned in line the stadium’s left field wall, about 600 feet from home plate.
