The extra space is higher than what real estate sources told GlobeSt.com earlier this month. It was believed at that time that the company was going to lease an additional 15,000 sf and sign an option for 17,000 or more sf. Officials say the company also is adding to its eight offices outside Austin, with plans to jump employment from about 500 to 800 or 1,000 people over the course of the next year.
With the tight real estate market in Austin, that may be a smart move for future growth. Right now, growth is on the minds of Concero executives as second quarter 2000 results show revenue has jumped $3 million, up from $14 million in first quarter 2000 and nearly 50% higher than second quarter 1999 earnings. The company is reporting second quarter net income of $1.1 million, nearly double the $584,000 posted in the first quarter. The 11-year-old company had been called PSW Technologies Inc.
