But with concerns that over-regulation could stunt New Jersey's economic growth, NJBA has come up with some ideas of its own, according to executive director Pat O'Keefe. NJBA proposes:,

• designating specific sites/areas for population and employment growth, with all growth allocated 100% to those places for the next 20 years,,

• using state aid to expand services and infrastructure in those zones,,

• creating a fund to address causes of water pollution and,

• creating a fund to remediate brownfields.Connors Moves Old Yardley BuildingUNION CITY, NJ-Housing mostly apparel-related tenants, aging industrial building may be converted into residences.A decade ago, wedding dress maker Mori Lee Co. moved from Union City, NJ to Florida, but decided not to sell its 135,000-sf building because the down market at the time would have fetched a rock-bottom price. So the Yardley Building (named after the soap maker, its original owner) was converted to multi-tenant use, most of which are in the garment business as well.,

But since the market is no longer down, the building was recently put up for sale, and just as quickly moved. The Bayonne, NJ-based William F. Connors Agency has just sold the property to an unnamed buyer for an undisclosed price.,

And the building may have a life beyond the garment business. It sits atop the Palisades with great views of Manhattan and is well located in New Jersey's burgeoning Hudson River Gold Coast area, so the new owner is said to be contemplating converting it into upscale residences, according to broker William F. Connors III.
