ATF Picks Headquarters Design Finalists

WASHINGTON-Four architectural and engineering firms selected as field narrows in competition to design new headquarters for government agency.

The US General Services Administration has selected four architectural and engineering design firms as finalists in the competition to design the new headquarters for the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco and Firearms. The 422,000-sf building, estimated to cost $60 million to $79 million, is planned for 1st Street and New York Avenue NE.

The four finalists are Moshe Safdie and Associates of Somerville, MA, Shalom Baranes Associates PC of Washington, Pei Cobb Freed & Partners of New York City and Rafael Vinoly Architects of New York City.
