More Housing on the Hudson

NORTH BERGEN, NJ-Long-dormant site, amidst NJ waterfront development largesse, is finally getting its due.

While commercial development has spread up and down NJ’s Hudson River waterfront in the past decade, sprouting new office, residential and retail properties in great volume, a 10-acre parcel has been the site has been passed by. Controversy over what to do with the slice of Gold Coast land has been the key issue.

That’s about to change. Developer the Barrett Cos., based in Fort Lee, NJ, plan to build two luxury rental buildings with more than 500 apartments. The company also plans to build terraces, a health club and a parking garage on the site.
