It's all part of a deal Wuthmann struck with the city and local preservationists who fought for three years his proposal to raze the Hacienda Garden courtyard apartments and build a new apartment complex in its place.
Wuthmann has agreed to an historical restoration of four of the six 1930s-era buildings. As for the other two, he'll either demolish them or hand over an equivilent amount of cash for their relocation. In their place, Wuthmann will build two larger buildings, one with 73 new apartment units and the other with both apartments and office space.
