Now the Owatonna store may soon no longer be the 7-store chain's busiest store with the opening Aug. 30 of Cabela's new store in Dundee, Michigan, 30 miles south of Detroit and 20 miles north of Toledo, OH. The new Cabela's is expected to draw 6 million visitors a year, which would make it Michigan's top tourist attraction _ bigger than Frankenmuth "Michigan's Little Bavaria" {3 million visitors) and Mackinac Island {2 million visitors).
Built by Minneapolis-based Kraus Anderson Construction, Cabela's 225,000 sf store attracted 206,000 visitors in its first week.
