CarrAmerica Tackles 50,000-SF Build-to-Suit Office for D.R. Horton Inc.

CarrAmerica Realty Corp. has signed a 50,000-sf build-to-suit agreement with D.R. Horton Inc., a company specializing in the construction and sale of luxury homes, GlobeSt.com has learned.The project will be at Riata Crossing, a 46-acre development project at the intersection of Riata Trace Parkway and Huntsville Drive in northwest Austin. Officials say D.R. Horton will occupy the entire building, which is scheduled for completion in December.

The deal marks the third major project in the Texas capital for CarrAmerica, a Washington, D.C.-based real estate firm. CarrAmerica also is constructing a 23-story, 418,000-sf office building at Sixth St. and Guadalupe in downtown Austin as well as a 192,000-sf build-to-suit for Harcourt Inc. at Braker Pointe at the northwest corner of Braker Lane and MoPac Expressway.
