The company is also after unfinished properties such as Regent Park, the former Heritage USA project started by evangelists Jim and Tammy Baker. Besides Charlotte, Double Diamond is scouting sites in Birmingham, AL and Louisville, KY. The firm has a purchase contract in Ohio.

The Texas firm is going to have company in its land searches. At least six other national developers are bird-dogging the same areas for similar land acquisitions, according to Charlotte brokers familiar with golf course-oriented property developments.
