Its warehouse at 217 E. Missouri Avenue in the River Market area just north of downtown will be closed. Pisciotta's building and its trucks, all painted with the company logo and fruits and vegetables, were easily recognized. The company delivered produce to restaurants and hotels within a 300-mile radius.

The company had employed as many as 100 workers and a few years ago posted earnings of nearly $30 million. Pisciotta was purchased about a year ago by Demma Fuit Co. Ltd. of Omaha, Neb. Demma recently filed for Chapter 7 liquidation.
