Developers Diversified Expands West Coast Portfolio

SAN FRANCISCO - The national shopping center real estate investment trust upped its western assets this week with a $355 million portfolio acquisition that includes three Bay Area properties.

The Hilltop Plaza shopping mall and Richmond City Center, both in Richmond, were part of the deal. Also included was a downtown Pleasant Hill, Calif., shopping center with tenants including Albertson's grocery store and Borders bookstore.

The total transaction increases Cleveland, Ohio-based Developers Diversified's western portfolio by 3.7 million sf. The national shopping center real estate investment trust owns and manages 206 shopping centers in 40 states, totaling 47.7 million sf.
